The expected learning outcomes for students in EE programs should be the same as those for others students.
Q: What are useful methods of language assessment?(Cloud, Genesee, Hamayan 2000) page 146
A: The most useful language assessment activities (1) are linked to instructional activities and objectives (2) are authentic (3) optimize student performance (4) are developmentally appropriate.
Q: How can I include parents in assessment?(Cloud, Genesee, Hamayan 2000) page 160
A: EE teachers can maintain communication with parents by sharing assessment results regularly, inform parents of their children's expected levels of performance in language and academic domains so parents know what to expect and are not unduly anxious if students are not performing like students in conventional programs, keep samples of student work over time so that they can show parents the progress of their children, include parents as active participants in some assessment activities-portfolios can be sent home with instructions about how parents and children can review the work in the portfolio together, describe assessment procedures and goals to parents so they understand how you are monitoring student progress.
